"This is the guild's facility and besides who'd carry all that stuff for me if not him? eh dotty"replied Mathew. "Well you do have a point" chuckled dotty."up for a spar?" "You bet !"replied Mathew as he stretched his arms and legs ready for a warm up match. "Hey Muni would you stop walking like a weak child and throw out my spear?"shouted Mathew. Muni was an citizen in his early 20's who had to work as an assistant for a ranker since he's an unranked, a citizen or human with out powers. The hall went dead silent. Murmurs were heard everywhereas they echoed from time to time. "Who brought an unranked?" What's wrong with this people" muni face turned grim as he muttered. He swallowed it all up and dipped his hand into Mathew's bag which was carrying and brought out an over weighing spear Whoosh! He launched it towards Mathew. Mathew saw the spear flying and with ease grabbed hold of it. "Easy there , someone might actually think you tried to kill me, ha ha ha not that you could ever, not even with five reawakens"said Mathew as he proudly beated on his chest. "Wow the unranked sure had some power to him, he launched that spear with tremendous power I doubt I could though." murmured a trainee. "Yeah, right? I guess carrying those heavy bags paid off somehow" murmured another trainee. The hall again was filled with murmurs as echoes were heard. "Hey,Mathew you gotta let the little ones know their place, else they close the line."adviced dotty. "Huh, yeah tell my about it " Mathew concured as he glared at Muni viciously. "Get lost, this hall isn't for nobodies like you." blurted out dotty while giving Muni a look of digust. Muni dragged the heavy bags along with his shame out of the hall He found a bench outside the hall on the vast corridor with windows fortified with zin energy. Bam! He dropped the bags, which seemed like they were clinging to his soul! He then sat down and relaxed himself on the long bench on the corridor. "Huh,It really sucks to be me" muttered Muni as he had both his hand covering his face. "Heh heh at least am surviving, in slion Kingdom am still above average citizen, I might not be be a ranker, but so what? If I worked hard there's a chance of getting a rankers portion Though chances of success is less than 20% but I will still grab it! Muni clenched his right fist. Just wait and see you bastards! After saying all Muni felt a bit relieved As a non ranker in a rankers organization it was suffocating and what made it worse was his commoner status!. He couldn't help but feel anxious about the upcoming dungeon exploration. He had high hope of getting a ranked artifact! He didn't dare dream of any high ranked artifact or ultra ranked artifact which ends being confiscated by the government and guilds and thus becomes a sealed artifact. He never liked the term used to describe super human"rankers" and also super natural items "ranked artifacts" like what idiot came up with those names? He looked out the window and bathed in the blissful sunlight. The ranking was a difficulty structured system where the two highest ranks were still vacant! He let out a sigh and calmed his soul down. Clank. Clank. Clank. He could feel the intensity of the training. It was expected after all this was a zin10 dungeon! Alot could go wrong but he was confident he could scrape his way through It was a joint guild operation and both guilds provided two zin11 combat special rankers. There was a high hope of success Besides what mighty monster would prey on the weakest when there were stronger ones to start with! Muni smirked. He already had a solid plan. He was going to use his guild team as a meat shield Atleast it was fair in his eyes After all they played might when there's only a few of them above zin13, Mathew and dotty being among them. After a couple of hours,Muni looked back at the hall door, and sighed in relief,"they should be wrapping up now". Soon the hall doors open and people walked out one after another in no particular order. Not long after, he could see Mathew, the ranker walked out with his long spear rested upon his chest and along side him was dotty. "So the guild will be bringing out a sealed artifact? What level ? 8 or 7?" Mathew threw the question at dotty the beautiful lady behind him. She has a fair skin, a beautiful black hair which extended to her neck, she had a charming but yet muscular look , it was a result of her extensive and rigorous training. She replied," A level 7 and 8 , the level 7 would be used by Carol and Dustin since they are zin11 and you and me can be responsible for the level 8" "I said level 8 as a joke,they are serious giving it out?" "At most I thought it would only be an 8 but to think there's 7?!" "Hoho ho oh boy, I have only been giving 9 at a zin12 dungeon back in the day" Mathew replied with a delightful expression. Muni couldnt help but be grateful for the provisions as he eavesdropped on them. They kept walking forward and chattered about. Mathew's eyes shifted and fell on Muni. "Oi,Muni,Come over here I got news for you" Muni's eyebrows twitched. He's at it again. Am not your baby brother, you overgrown adult! He got up and lifted the bags which were like liches clinging to his soul. He walked towards Mathew while carrying those heavy loads. "What's the update?"he asked while pretending he didn't notice Dotty's glance. "You might finally have a chance at becoming an ranker" "Depending on your performance in this mission" "I didn't mean be crude to you, but it helped you grow, also being with me has shielded you from those guys" "We are still buddy right?"asked Mathew. Muni had a mix of emotions, Mathew was a tough guy but he had his benefits and truth be told he didn't have to give him this job. After two seconds Muni replied," sure" some what cheerful ,some what confused. "We will talk about the plan at her place, can't let these bastards beat us!",Mathew blurted out. "He's not even hiding it" said someone in passing as they seemed to belong to a different faction. "What my place?, I don't want my little sister being infected with his weakling syndrome again, I have had enough of it" dotty blurted out shocked , as she shied away from them and took two steps backward. "Like I got a disease or something?"Muni couldn't help but feel more irritated whenever she was around "Are we taking a taxi?"he asked "Yeah,we broke, can't wait to breakthrough to zin11,and have my own paradise"answered Dotty as she seemed to be making future plans. "What do you mean broke? You guys are millionaires, you are just stingy!" Muni blurted out. Dotty, somewhat embarrassed, replied,"have to save to buy higher zin portion and artifact, one has to consider the future well, I live in a protected estate instead of a penthouse for this very reason and to shield my sister from the zin world". "Buying a luxurious car is a waste of my money it's why newbie rankers never advance, unless you really awaken with a high zin rank, you have to save up!" Muni gulped as he swallowed his saliva. "Of course this is for those who want to go further in the rankers world else you can simply live like a playboy and hope the day you die in a dungeon doesn't come soon",Dotty added. "He he and you know advancing isn't naturally possible and it involves shady stuff in the black market" "It hasn't been long since rankers portions started existing, else if you are not an awakener you could not even dream of it",Mathew added in passing. Outside the guild building. The three waited outside as cars passed by. Soon a taxi stopped and they got in, the back seat was a little cramped with Muni's heavy loads and Mathew's spear that was nearly poking out of the taxi roof.
